Fair compensation for online paypal payment gateway

Let's say there is some website for which I have to build only an online paypal payment gateway. How much should I charge for this?

It depends how much you want to make and how much the client is prepared to pay. You need to benchmark your day rate and hour rate against the competition. Undercut them slightly.

The task you describe shouldn't take more than a couple of hours for a good developer.

Consider that there's a swarm of (Asian) talents that can be outsourced to do this at 2 bucks/ per hour. So if benacheson says this can be done in 2 hours, that's almost to say $5.00 is fair. Just something to think about.
